Publicly on this site for Satellite Senior High School, we
can see sports schedules, as well as other events and concerts done by students
at the school. A newsletter is available
on the homepage for all to read about what is upcoming for the month. List of faculty and staff are available, as
well as lists for clubs and extracurricular activities provided at this school.
As a future educator, technology is going to be a key part
of my job as a teacher and as a person. I
need to be able to utilize various programs, like Canvas, Blackboard, or Edline,
to rely information to my students about assignments, grades, and other
announcements. Sites like Diigo will be
important for me to annotate work for my students analyze or for them to use
and annotate their own work and share it with the class in lieu of standard
presentations that could be nerve-racking for some students
In the Sandbox, we learned about different types of smart
boards and how they might be used in the classroom. At my high school, we didn’t have smart
boards available to us and I experienced my first one in observations of
FSUS. This would be such an amazing
tool. You could write on a piece you are
annotating and have the class do the same, instead of just the teacher’s
annotations on the projector that students copy for their own notes. It makes activities more interactive and
engaging to encourage students to participate more in their own education.
